Ed Matthews, Attorney & CPA
Ed focuses on legacy planning for individuals, families, business owners, and farmers. He is one of only a few attorneys who is also a currently-licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA). His specific areas of expertise include:
- Estate Planning and Tax Planning, including the preparation of wills, trusts, real estate deeds, financial powers of attorney, health care directives, and related documents

After graduating with highest honors from law school, Ed was selected as one of eleven attorneys to clerk for the Minnesota Supreme Court during its 2003-2004 term. With his experience in tax planning, estate planning, and conflict management, Ed prepares complete, personalized estate plans to serve the following purposes:

Ed is licensed in both Minnesota and Ohio, and enjoys working with farm families in both states. He often utilizes Ohio’s unique Legacy Trust to shield client’s assets from future creditors. Outside the office, Ed enjoys boating, swimming, hiking, and rescuing dogs.
